Ummeldung: moving to a new flat

Moved to a new flat? Register the new address within 14 days. It is the same registration form, with your old address filled in too.

Which case is yours?

You move…What to do
Within the same cityRegister the new address at your city’s registration office (Ummeldung).
Between Ulm and Neu-Ulm (or any two German cities)Register at the new city. You do not deregister in the old one; the new city tells the old one.
AbroadDeregister instead: see Abmeldung.
