Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This page explains which personal data is processed when you use ankommenguide.de, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In short: this site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, shows no ads and loads nothing from third parties. The calculators run entirely in your browser.
1. Who is responsible
The controller is the operator named in the Impressum. Contact: hello@ankommenguide.de.
2. Hosting
The site is hosted on a server of Contabo GmbH, Aschauer Straße 32a, 81549 München, Germany, in an EU data centre. We have a data processing agreement with Contabo (Art. 28 GDPR).
When you open a page, your browser sends technical data such as your IP address and the page requested. The server uses it only to deliver the page. Our web server does not keep access logs, so this data is not stored. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
3. Calculators and tools
All calculators, the checklist and other tools run only in your browser. The numbers and answers you enter are not sent to us or anyone else, and they are not stored. When you close or reload the page, they are gone.
4. No cookies; anonymous statistics
This site does not set cookies and does not use ads, social media plugins or embedded content. Our fonts (Inter and Fraunces) are stored on our own server; nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or other font services.
To see which pages are useful, we count visits with Umami, an open-source statistics tool that runs on our own server at Contabo in Germany. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page, the referring website, browser, operating system, device type and country, but no information that identifies you; it does not store your IP address. Your data is not passed to anyone else. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, you are not counted. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
5. Links to other websites
We link to official websites (cities, ministries), to OpenStreetMap for maps, and to other sources. These sites only receive data from you if you click the link. Their own privacy policies apply.
6. When you email us
If you email us, for example to report a waiting time or suggest a correction, we use your message only to answer and to check the information. We keep only the content of reports and their date. We delete your email address and message once checked, at the latest within 30 days. We never publish anything that identifies you. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (answering your request and keeping the information on this site correct).
Emails to hello@ankommenguide.de are received by our domain provider, checkdomain GmbH, and forwarded to our mailbox at Google (Gmail, Google Ireland Limited). Google may process data in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17),
- restrict its processing (Art. 18),
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21).
Email us to use these rights. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI Baden-Württemberg). You can also contact the authority in the state where you live.
8. Changes
We update this policy before adding any new service that processes personal data, such as analytics, ads or a newsletter.
